Brussels, April 2025 — The European Union has announced the allocation of €258 million in humanitarian aid to support the most vulnerable populations in the Greater Horn of Africa, West Africa, and Central Africa.
The funding is aimed at addressing urgent humanitarian needs, including food insecurity, access to clean water, healthcare services, hygiene, and education in crisis-affected regions. The aid will be channeled through humanitarian partners on the ground to ensure swift and effective delivery.
Regions benefiting from this support continue to face severe challenges such as conflict, climate-related disasters, displacement, and chronic poverty. The EU emphasized the importance of sustained international solidarity to protect lives and dignity across the continent.
The assistance reaffirms the EU’s long-standing commitment to humanitarian action and its role as a major global donor in times of crisis.
