Terms of use

The terms on which we publish, and on which you may use the site. In effect from 19 August 2026.

  1. Using this site

By using Business Report you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continued use means you accept the current version.

  2. Our content

The articles, images, graphics and other material on this site are protected by copyright and belong to the publication or to the people we license them from. You may read, link to and share our work, and quote short extracts with attribution and a link. You may not republish whole articles, or use our material commercially, without our written permission.

You may not scrape, copy or reproduce the site systematically — including to train machine-learning models — without our written permission.

  3. Accuracy and reliance

We work hard to be accurate and fair, and we correct mistakes openly on our corrections page. But our reporting is journalism, not professional advice. Nothing on this site is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and you should not treat it as a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or to take any financial decision. Seek advice from a licensed professional before acting.

Where we link to other websites, we do so for your convenience. We are not responsible for their content.

  4. Tips, messages and submissions

When you send us a tip, a message or any other material, you confirm you are entitled to share it, and you allow us to use it in our journalism. You can ask us to keep your identity confidential, and where we agree to, we honour that.

Please do not send us anything unlawful, or anything you are bound by a duty of confidence not to disclose, unless disclosing it is in the public interest and you understand the risks.

  5. Availability

We aim to keep the site available and working, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it. We are not liable for losses arising from the site being unavailable.

  6. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the site is provided "as is", and we exclude liability for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

  7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts.

  8. 8. Contact

Questions about these terms? Write to news@businessreport.co.ke or use our contact page. See also our privacy policy.

These terms are provided in good faith as an interim measure and are not legal advice. They should be reviewed by a qualified adviser before launch.
