Four employees from the National Treasury’s Pensions Department have been arrested for allegedly running a bribery syndicate targeting members of the public.

Treasury Staff Arrested in Bribery Syndicate Bust by the Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) confirmed the arrests on Thursday, following a two-month undercover operation.

The suspects are accused of soliciting and receiving bribes to expedite pension processing.

EACC says investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be arraigned once the probe is complete.

The commission has vowed to intensify surveillance in public offices to curb corruption.
